Our Apricots

Apricots in California typically bloom in February and early March and ripen in late June to July, a growing season of about 100–120 days. However, due to rising temperatures, the harvest can begin as early as late May. Some say the most prized California apricots are The Pattersons, which has intense color and flavor. Not only are they delicious right off the tree, but Pattersons have proven to be the ideal variety for canning, freezing, purees and drying which works out well as most of California's apricot crop is 'preserved' in one of these forms. While Pattersons are the predominant variety grown in California, the avid apricot enthusiast will also be able to find several other varieties to try. . .
